Dominican missionaries continue in the relief effort

Rev. Walter Ries, Rev. Ted Krey and Missionary Danelle Putname have been serving at the Good Samaritan Hopsital in Jimani, Domincan Republic (on the border) since Tuesday this week. It is chaotic, overwhelming, unbelievable and heartbreaking. Patient numbers at the hospital vary but always too many. When they arrived in Jimani they brought 10 other medical professionals and doctors with them and were one of the first medical teams to serve at the hospital. This week they have taken care of patients critically injured, needing amputations, near death, alone and isolated. I have been unable to keep this blog updated as I am working everyday on the logistics of shipping food, water, and supplies from Santo Domingo to Jacmel to our brothers and sisters in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti. I will update information on the Dominican missionaries as I am able. If you want to watch the most recent updates of our team, please click on this link to a blog from one of our team members in Jimani. He is with the missionaries there providing pastoral care and support. LINK
