About the Partnership

We are a partnership of many different groups partnering with the people of the Dominican Republic to plant and grow a dynamic, healthy, confessional, Gospel-proclaiming, independent national Lutheran Church within the Dominican Republic that welcomes, ministers to and equips for service all those loved by God in Jesus Christ, including families with members who have developmental disabilities or special needs.

Our partnership is made up of first and foremost the people of the Dominican Republic who are seeking to establish a church and outreach ministry to the disabled in the Dominican Republic.  Two departments within the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, World Relief and Human Care and World Mission have joined in this effort, as well as Bethesda Lutheran Communities, the IELB Igreja Evangelica Lutherana do Brasil (Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil), St. Michael Lutheran Church, CALMS – Central America Lutheran Missions Society and the LCMS South Wisconsin District and it’s congregations.

  1. In study this morning the text came up, yet again, “Let the little children come to me…” I can’t read those word’s without a prayer for the continued work of DD ministry in the Dominican. Thanks for bringing the children to Jesus, from the institutions, from the ball fields, from the countryside. You are in our prayers.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and prayers. It is so wonderful to see the lives being changed by the hard working missionaries in the Dominican Republic. The Lord has blessed this ministry in numerous ways. It is amazing to see the confirmand young people growing in their understanding of the Gospel of Jesus. It is also wonderful to be able to witness the developmentally disabled children and their families being shown the love and compassion of Christ.

Thank you again for your kind words and prayers!

  2. A blog probably isn’t the place to ask this. However, it’s worth a try. Our congregation is a TIM congregation supporting Danelle Putnam. I spoke with Danelle this past August about our congregation sending a mission team down in 2011. Danelle was very encouraging of the idea and suggested we start putting a mission team together and that this fall (2010) we could start looking at dates. We have mission leaders lined pu on our end, but I’ve not been able to get in touch with anyone with the DR mission to see if we can start looking at dates. Who should our contact person should be?

We are vary excited about partnering with the ministry in the Dominican in new ways and it’s great to see the progress God is making in the La Concordia school, in catechism classes, and toward the new group home. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
