Hogares Luteranos el Buen Pastor Profile – Junior

Junior has a pleasant personality. He likes to tease. He loves to be busy working, and helpful. It is important to him to be useful. Junior is a capable adolescent (probably around 13 years old). He has cerebral palsy which has effected his speech. Junior can emit sounds, so he is learning to pronounce some words through speech therapy. He also has paralysis in his right hand. Junior goes to school along with Stefany. Junior started out in the Kindergarten class since he never had gone to school before. But he soon figured out that he didn’t really belong there. So, he went to the 1st/2nd room. After a few days, he decided that there must be a better fit, so he moved to the 3rd/4th room. Junior felt at home and stayed. All the children and teachers at the school have been overwhelmingly accepting of Stefany and Junior. It has been a blessing for all to have the children in school.

Junior is very well behaved and learns fast. He loves going to church. In the DR, we have the tradition to walk up to the altar, bow, place our offering in the basket, bow again and return to our seat. After a few weeks of initially attending church, we gave Junior some coins to put in the offering. We pointed to him to go up and put the coins in the basket. He climbed out from behind the bench, walked excitedly up to the altar, gave the most solemn bow ever, put his offering in the basked, bowed again, turned around, and gave a huge smile! Ramona, in contrast, skips to the altar to leave her offering. We are awed at seeing the Holy Spirit work in their lives.

  1. I truly appreciate this post. I’ve been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You’ve made my day! Thank you again!

  2. Regards for all your efforts that you have put in this. Very interesting information. “Anything I’ve ever done that ultimately was worthwhile… initially scared me to death.” by Betty Bender.
